Censor is a self-indulgent exploration of the concepts and objects Babiak typically chooses to exclude from her work via careful editing and curating. For this series, she challenged herself to shoot candid shots of scenes she found herself a witness to, with minimal curating of things she finds unsightly within the frame. By later manually censoring these ideas with the bright yellow paint she both creates the art she enjoys and calls attention to the things she would like to ignore. Censor allows her to confront herself and her wanton romanticization of the world around her. This series was shot on 4″x6″ film with a view camera.
